Protect our Vet Techs from Rabies

Vet techs are the first in the room with the dog,  cat or any animal that is brought to the vet.
Rabies vaccination is required by law for cats and dogs largely to protect people.  Sometimes these pets are behind on vaccinations and roam outside. If they have been exposed to rabid wildlife while not protected, they can catch rabies and expose people to it.

The American Veterinary Medical Association prohibits non-vaccinated vet tech students to be present when animals are not vaccinated or of unknown status. The CMU Tech Veterinary Technician program would like to support our students by helping defray the cost of getting pre-exposure protection and provide a better educational experience. This vaccine is $800 and is often not covered by insurance so it has to come out of the student's pockets.  We are raising funds to cover half the cost of the vaccine for this year's 14 students and 2 faculty members.

Support this program and help protect our Vet Tech students!
